The Mental Elevation Incense Recipe is an original mixture by Loren Reeves. My first mental health incense recipe holds significant value to me because it was created from a personal growth experience; it is priceless. This recipe is a phased recipe that introduces resins for mental grounding, balance, focus, and prepares the body for meditation or sleep. I am delighted to share my technique and all of the properties in the mixture. You can use this recipe for aromatherapy, meditation, spiritual ceremonies, or simply to harmonize the mind and body. It is a slow process and allows your body to progress mindfully in different stages as the ingredients are applied.

I provided a previous post on how I use aromatherapy for mental wellbeing. I use an incense cup, white ash, and charcoal. You may have another method of burning resins; please utilize what is comfortable to you. I do recommend the white ash for mixtures because you can pour resins on top of the charcoal and potentially stir or rotate the charcoal. In some cases, you can utilize the ash on top of the charcoal to reduce burn rate and smoke output.
1. Begin with 1st Choice Hojary Oman Frankincense resin. Place on the charcoal by itself. Allow it to burn on its own and allow the first resin to initiate calm, balance, and grounding energies for your body. If you are a spiritual person, starting with Hojary Oman enhances meditation and deepens the spiritual connection. It is peaceful, positive, and dispels negativity while bringing in balance and harmony. It has a crisp, bright aroma.
2. Add Hojary Brown Frankincense resin after you have allowed the 1st Choice to release its oils. This can take about 2-5 minutes. Place a piece of Hojary Brown next to the previous Frankincense allowing both to burn at the same time. This will bring a bolder, deeper, and woodsy aroma and will bring a calming and focusing effect at the same time.
3. Pour a spoonful of Amber (Pinus Succinifera) over the Frankincense once the first two ingredients have burned for about 3-5 minutes. This resin has been known to be a remedy for mental illness and it renews and provides alertness. It improves focus and memory, enhances stability and improves cognitive function. The warm scent can also stimulate the brain to perform tasks better. By helping to improve focus and memory, it helps improve the quality of life. It can additionally promote healthy sleep.
4. Use a mortar and pestle to reduce the Amber Honey resin into small pieces. Apply a dash (very small amount) of Amber Honey to the top of the mixture. This will produce more smoke compared to the other resins and smells divine. This resin is often used in perfumes. This addition calms the mind and prepares for meditation. Grounding, purification, happiness, and emotional balance are other characteristics.
5. Allow incense to burn until blackened on top of charcoal. Use a spoon or metal object and remove blackened incense from charcoal. Make sure the charcoal is still lit, scrape excess residue off.
6. Add a palm full of Ancient Inca Blend to the cleaned charcoal. This blend brings mental balance and ends the mixture preparing you for meditating, calming, and sleep.
